What Our Readers Says About Us
Readers Thoughts
Just a month ago, I lost my job and had no idea what to do. That weird sort of helplessness had started to take a toll on me and I felt I was good for no use. Then, a friend of mine gave me this book ‘Horseshoe’ by Steve Downey. I read it and it dragged me out of that state of pessimism. I was ignited with a new stride of hopefulness and started working for better days instead of cribbing about the past that was already lost.

In this irregular course of life, it is quite easier to get lost in translation and miss the plot. When everything has gotten so materialistic, people have started running after unimportant things. That’s what is causing destruction. However, this brilliant book by Steve Downey will explain the need to focus on your purpose of existence. It will tell you why you should never run after these worldly things and stay driven toward your goals and objectives. That’s how you will become a better person.

I wanted to open a restaurant on my own. It was a dream since I was a kid. But then as I grew up, people would say weird things, like, how would a girl run a restaurant, or that it was a flop idea and I would only end up disappointing my family. Initially, I paid no heed to it, but then, with time, their mouths got bigger and words got harsher. That’s when I allowed them to hold power over my thoughts, and let them control me. I dropped the idea. Then, I got my hands around this book that drove me back to my oldest dream. The story was all about self-construction and it asked me to prioritize myself and to focus on my goals.

It is undoubtedly one of the best motivational books I have ever read. ‘Horseshoe’ by Steve Downey captures life in its most raw form and then will tell you ways to live it. This book doesn’t just linger around the happy parts, but will also force you to channel the darkness within you and terminate it. It is a personal story that has helped me overcome a lot of my fears. I was able to look into myself and work toward betterment. It also helped in aligning my life to do what’s right.

It doesn’t happen very often that you find good motivational books that also reflects on the personal life of the author. Steve Downey not only did a commendable job with his words, but he also should be applauded for his lifelong work and journey. He had seen a lot in his life but always took the road that led toward positivity. He had envisioned goals and was stubborn about these. So, he kept pushing himself harder to achieve those. And one day, finally, he got where he wanted. This book also gives us the same lesson, to keep fighting until victory is ours.

Taylor Swift once said, ‘There are going to be people along the who will try to undercut your success, or take credits for your accomplishments. But if you just focus on your work and don’t let these people affect you, then one day, you will get where you wanted. And once you look back and realize it was just you who got you there, trust me it would be the greatest feeling in the whole damn world.’ I really connected with those words and wanted to implement it in my life. However, I couldn’t know how, or where to start or what to do. Then I came across this book named ‘Horseshoe.’ It answered to all my what’s, why’s and how’s. I was wonderstruck by the way it helped me in evolving myself. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to do something great with their lives.

Every once in a while, all of us go through a turbulent phase in life when everything seems like a blur. It could be anything from heartbreak to joblessness that will lock you in this box of darkness. In my case, it was the grief of losing my mother that made me fall into this stressful condition. The worst part was that it kept worsening and I couldn’t find a way out. It was a terrible phase and then some suggested me this book by Kevin Barnett. As cliché the name sounded, it didn’t think this book would help me. But to my surprise, “Living Stress Free Again” turned out to be life-changing for me. It casted some spell and I was out of that dark bubble that once felt hard to escape.
